Once the Prophet (S) left to pray Fajr Salat from (his wife's home) while she was offering prayer. When he (S) returned after Ishraq prayer, she was still sitting on her prayer carpet. On this he (S) said to her: "Have you been continuously sitting in the same place since I left you?" She replied, "Yes." Thereupon he (S) said: "After I left you, I have recited four sentences three times; and if they could be measured against what you have recited since morning they would prove weightier. These four sentences are:

سبحان الله وبحمده عدد خلقه, ورضا نفسه, وزنة عرشه, ومداد كلماته

"Subhanal lahi wa bi ham-di-hi ada-da Khal-qihi wa rida'a naf-sihi wa zina-ta 'ar-shi-hi wa mida-da Kale-mate-hi."

The month of Ramadaan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong).  And whoever of you is present, let him (or her) fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him or her, fast the same) number of days.  Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and (He desireth) that you should complete the period, and that you should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful.

Ramadhan:

Seek ultimate Blessings!!!

Prophet Mohammed (peace & blessing of ALLAH be upon him) said, that ALLAH-the-Almighty said:
○•---------------------------------------------------------------------------•○
ALL THE DEEDS OF MAN ARE FOR HIMSELF, EXCEPT FASTING,
WHICH IS FOR ME, AND I WILL REWARD IT, MYSELF.
○•---------------------------------------------------------------------------•○

1. Fast during Ramadhan with belief and truly seeking the reward of Allah the Most High so that He may forgive you your past sins.

2. Beware of breaking your fast during the days of Ramadhan without a valid Islamic excuse, for it is from the greatest of sins.

3. Pray Salat ut-Taraweeh and the night prayer during the nights of Ramadhan – especially on Layatul-Qadr – based on belief and truly seeking the reward of Allah, so that Allah may forgive you your past sins.

4. Make sure that your food, your drink and your clothing are from halal means, in order that your actions be accepted, and your supplications answered. Beware of refraining from the halal while fasting and breaking your fast with the haram.

5. Give food to some fasting people to gain a reward similar to theirs.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
○•-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------•○
Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, we believe, and will not be tested with affliction?

Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knows those who are sincere, and knows those who feign??
---Holy Quran; Al-AnKabut; The Spider; 29, 2-3.

SURELY, IN THE REMEMBRANCE OF ALLAH, DO HEARTS (of Believers) FIND REST. - Holy Quran; 13, 28.
○•-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------•○

6. Perform your five prayers on time in congregation to gain the reward and Allahs protection.

7. Give a lot of charity for the best charity is that of Ramadhan.
8. Beware of spending your time without performing righteous deeds, for you will be responsible and reckoned for it and will be rewarded for all you do during your time.
9. Perform `umrah in Ramadhan for `Umrah in Ramadhan is equal to Hajj.
10. Seek help for fasting during the day by eating the sahoor meal in the last part of the night before the appearance of Fajr.

11. Hasten breaking your fast after the sun has truly set in order to gain the love of Allah.

12. Perform ghusl (bath)  before fajr if you need to purify yourself from the state of major impurity so that you are able to do acts of worship in a state of purity and cleanliness.

13. Cease the opportunity of being in Ramadhan and spend it with the good that has been revealed in it – by reciting the noble Quran and pondering and reflection of its meanings so that it be a proof for you with your Lord and an intercessor for you on the Day of Reckoning.

14. Preserve your tongue from lying, cursing, backbiting and slander for it decreases the reward of fasting.

15. Do not let fasting cause you cross your boundaries by getting upset due to the slightest of reasons. Rather, fasting should be a cause of peacefulness and tranquility of your soul.

16. Upon completion of fasting, be in a state of taqwa of Allah the Most High, being aware of Allah watching you in secret and in public, in thankfulness for His favors, and steadfastness upon obedience of Allah by doing all what He has ordered and shunning all that He has prohibited.

17. Increase in remembrance of Allah, seeking of forgiveness, asking for Paradise and protection against the Fire, especially when fasting, while breaking the fast and during suhoor, for these actions are among greatest causes of attaining Allahs forgiveness.

18. Increase in supplication for yourself, your parents, your children and Muslims, for Allah has ordered making of supplications and has guaranteed acceptance.

19. Repent to Allah with a sincere repentance in all times by leaving sins, regretting those that you have done before and firmly deciding not to return to them in the future, for Allah accepts repentance of those who repent.

20. Fast six days of Shawwal, for whoever fasts Ramadhan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he fasts all the time.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

My duaa will reach to every person in my ummah,
who did not make any partners with Allah. (Muslim)

O Allah make us and all Muslims of those who fast and stand in prayer during the month of Ramadhan based on belief and truly seeking Your reward so that we are forgiven our past and future sins.

O Allah make us of those who fasted the month, attained full reward, witnessed Layatul-Qadr and attained success by permission of the Lord, Blessed and Most High.

O Allah, verily you are Forgiver, like to forgive, so forgive us.

O Lord, accept from us, verily you are the All-Hearing, all-Seeing, O Living, O Independent, O Owner of all majesty and honor.

Ramadan Dua's

during Fasting

The Last Holy Prophet Mohammed (peace & blessing of ALLAH be upon him) said, that ALLAH-the-Almighty said:
○•------------------------------------------------------------------------------------•○
ALL THE DEEDS OF MAN ARE FOR HIMSELF, EXCEPT FASTING,
WHICH IS FOR ME, AND I WILL REWARD IT, MYSELF.
○•------------------------------------------------------------------------------------•○

When beginning the fast- Suhur
Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri ramadan
I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan
[abu Dawud]

DUA at the time of Breaking the fast- Iftaar
Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu [wa 'alayka tawakkaltu] wa ‘ala rizq-ika aftarthu
O Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You [and I put my trust in You] and I break my fast with Your sustenance

["wa 'alayka tawakkaltu" is quoted in some books of knowledge - but not all, hence it is in brackets]
[abu Dawud]

——————-

dhahabadh-dhama’u wab-tallatil ‘urūūqi, wa thabatal arju inshaAllah
The thrist is gone, the veins are moistened and the reward is confirmed, if Allah [Ta'ala] Wills

[abu Dawud 2:306]
Allaahumma inni as’aluka birahmatika al-lati wasi’at kulli shay’in an taghfira li
O Allah, I ask You by Your mercy which envelopes all things, that You forgive me.

[a du'a that Abdullah ibn Amar (radiAllahu anhu) used to say when breaking his fast - as reported by Ibn abi Mulaykah (radiAllahu anhu)]

When someone offers you food when you are fasting and you decline
When you are invited to eat, then reply to the invitation. if you are fasting, then invoke Allah’s blessings (on your host), and if you are not fasting then eat

[Muslim; 2:1054]

Upon reaching month of Rajab and Sha’ban
When the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) sighted the moon of Rajab (two months before Ramadan) he used to pray to Allah in the following words:
اَللّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِى رَجَبَ وَ شَعْبَانَ وَ بَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَان
Allahumma barik lana fi Rajab wa Sha’ban wa ballighna Ramadan
O Allah! Make the months of Rajab and Sha’ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadan (i.e. prolong our life up to Ramadan, so that we may benefit from its merits and blessings)

[Narrated by at-Tabarani and Ahmad]

When you are fasting, and someone is rude to you

Inni sa’iimu, inni sa’iimu
I am fasting, I am fasting

[Sahih al-Bukhari, Fath al-Bari of Al-Asqalani; 4:1-3, Muslim; 2:806]

Upon Sighting of the new Moon
Allahu Akbar. Allahumma ahillahu ‘alayna bil-amni wal-imaani, was-salaamati, wal-Islami, wat-tawfeeqi lima tuhibbu Rabbana wa tardha. Rabbuna wa RabbukAllahu
Allah is the Greatest. O Allah bring us the new moon with security and faith, with peace and in Islam, and in harmony with what our Lord Loves and what pleases Him. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah

O Allah! Bless us in our dates, and bless us in our town, bless us in our saa’ and in our Mudd’

RAMADAN: Compulsory Fasting in the Holy Month of RAMADAN or RAMAZAAN
Islam has also prescribed fasting for Muslims, in the form of a period of one month of abstinence accompanied by intense devotional activity, which constitutes the third pillar of Islam. Ramadan Fasting is prescribed to train the Muslims self-discipline and scrupulous obedience to God's commands. Fasting is a compulsory and most common practice all over the world, simultaneously for all Muslims; binding them all in their religious duties which no other religion grants to such benevolence of brotherhood amongst mankind.

Not regarded as penance for sins or as a means
to appease the wrath of God. Besides the Ramadan fast involves total abstinence from all food, drink and sex during the hours between sunrise and sunset. The fast should be broken each day at sunset and is also recommended taking a meal before dawn (suhoor), ie before the daily fast.

In addition to the withdrawal of these ordinary and lawful needs, Muslims also strive to increase their devotional activities during this holy month. Alongside the usual five daily prayers, is made an additional sentence called tarawih, which is performed only during Ramadan. It is done individually or collectively every night. It was also a Sunnah (practice of the Prophet) reciting the entire Quran during this month, and many Muslims today continue this tradition. The last ten days and nights of Ramadan is a period of particularly intense devotion due to the fact that between one of such nights commemoration occurs the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr), which produced the first revelation of the Holy Quran to the Prophet Muhammad.

Give financial assistance to those in need is one of the obligations of fasting, as are the bridle the tongue and exercising self-control.

Fasting Muslim does so by disciplined and tenacious. It teaches you to be flexible and adaptable in their habits, to be able to endure hardship and to appreciate the gifts God gives and those normally. Fasting also enables the Muslim to feel the daily experience suffered by the homeless and to be, in this way, active in his compassion and support to him.

Islam recognizes that food, drink and sex are needs to believe in the human bonds of dependency. Therefore, a Muslim is required to for one month a year is unaware of the satisfaction of these needs in the daytime in order to develop their spiritual nature.

While this may seem like a fast hard for those not used to it, in practice it is not only tolerable but also easy for most who do it. It should also be said that only those who have reached puberty and are able to fast, children, the elderly, the sick, women during menstruation, pregnant women and travelers among others, are not required to do so. The month of Ramadan ends with the festival of Eid el-Fitr, the Feast of the Breaking of the Fast, which is one of the most important holidays in the Islamic calendar.

In this festival, which lasts three days, Muslims begin the day swimming and dressing with the best clothes. Then go to the mosque for prayer and the crowd usually overwhelm the sacred and spreads abroad. First food eaten during the day and celebrate passing the test of a collective fasting. After the prayers, people exchange gifts and visit relatives and friends.

They are also required to give alms to the poor. Throughout the day, Muslims have to reflect on the meaning of Islam and try to iron out differences with family and friends, to start a new life under the sign of peace and reconciliation.

Later, the 10th of Dul-Hijja last month, we celebrate the feast of Eid al-Adha, which usually lasts three days. The origins of this festival date back to biblical prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), who showed their willingness to adhere at all to God, who was even willing to sacrifice his dearest son, Ishaq (Isaac). That day, both Muslims who are in Mecca and the rest of the world, started the party with a common prayer and sacrifice a sheep, a cow or a camel, which are left with one hand and the rest is distributed among the poor.

And when they went into the field against Goliath and his hosts they said: Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance, make our foothold sure, and give us help against the disbelieving folk.

So they routed them by Allah's leave and David slew Goliath; and Allah gave him the kingdom and wisdom, and taught him of that which He wills. And if Allah had not repelled some men by others the earth would have been corrupted. But Allah is a Lord of Kindness to (His) creatures.
